About Us

Our main goal is to bridge geodynamics, climate, and biosphere research

EUROBIG is a collaborative initiative dedicated to unraveling the complex interactions between Earth's geodynamics, climate, and biosphere. Through interdisciplinary research and cutting-edge models, we aim to bridge scientific gaps and shape the future of biogeodynamics.

EUROBIG (Pan-European Biogeodynamics Network) is a COST Action initiative dedicated to advancing research on the interactions between geodynamics, climate, and the biosphere. Our network unites experts from diverse fields to develop interdisciplinary frameworks for understanding Earth's evolution and its future dynamics.

To foster collaboration among geoscientists, climate researchers, and biologists, creating a unified platform for biogeodynamics research. EUROBIG aims to bridge knowledge gaps and develop predictive models for Earth’s changing environment.

A sustainable and data-driven future where Earth’s past, present, and future dynamics are well understood, guiding climate action, biodiversity conservation, and geodynamic modeling.

What we do

Our main tasks

Organizing conferences, workshops, and community-building efforts.

Developing courses, summer schools, and educational materials.

Creating open-access computational tools and databases.

Public engagement through social media, events, and publications.

Coordinating funding proposals and doctoral networks.

Addressing climate change, biodiversity, and sustainability.

Upcoming Events
Online 15th – 19th September 2025

Online School “Introduction to Geodynamic Modelling”

The online school is organized by the Working Group on Biogeodynamics Education of the COST Action EUROBIG and hosted by the Institute of Geological Sciences, Polish Academy of Sciences.

This school is primarily intended for Masters and PhD students, though it is open to all interested participants. It offers a comprehensive introduction to numerical methods and tectonic, mantle, and surface processes, concluding with an open discussion on biogeodynamics.
